On June 30, 2003, golfers from throughout the country met at Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville, Illinois to honor a nationally-recognized individual for the numerous contributions he has made to our area, and to support the educational effort of one of our premier universities.

The golfers competed in a tournament being held to honor Harry Gallatin, an NBA Hall of Fame player and coach who was instrumental in establishing the intercollegiate golf program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, eventually serving as coach of the men's golf team for more than twenty years.

The proceeds of the last three years' tournaments, totaling more than $74,000, went to establishing a scholarship endowment in Coach Gallatin's name at SIUE, effectively enabling deserving young athletes the opportunity to obtain a quality education while competing at the collegiate level.

To make this event as successful as possible, to help deserving collegiate athletes and to effectively honor Harry Gallatin for his many contributions to the people of our area and to SIUE, we would appreciate your support again this year as a player and/or sponsor.
